From Dar es Salaam fly to Nyerere, with exciting game drives, a boat safari and bush walk in the national park. Then continue by flight to Zanzibar for some well-deserved relaxation in this tropical paradise.
Welcome to Tanzania! In the morning you fly from Julius Nyerere International Airport directly to Nyerere National Park (former Selous Game Reserve). Depending on the arrival of your international flight it is possible to take an earlier or later flight, or to book an overnight stay in Dar es Salaam (not included).
You will be met at the airstrip and transferred Selous Impala Camp, your home for the next three nights. Selous Impala Camp is a beautiful tented camp located high up on the banks of the Rufiji River. After settling in and lunch with great river views, you make a first game drive in the afternoon.
Today you explore the immense game reserve! You will do game drives in an open 4WD safari vehicle. Together with an experienced guide, you drive into the wilderness in search of the wide variety of animals. Apart from elephants, giraffes, hippos and many other species of mammals, the area has an abundance of water birds, including fish eagles and kingfishers.
In addition, a boat trip at the Rufiji River should not be missed out during your safari. Nyerere is one of the few national parks in Africa where you can see game from the water. And how about a safari on foot? Walking safaris are a great way to get closer to nature and obtain attention for the little things that you would not be able to witness from the car or boat. Since Nyerere National Park is so little visited, it is not uncommon to spend hours without seeing any other visitors. This gives you the feeling that you have the park for yourself. Today morning you will start the day off with a tray of morning tea or coffee deliver to your tent by your personal butler.
After breakfast you will have the opportunity to explore the Park through an Escorted Walking safaris for your morning activity. Back at Camp you can enjoy the pool area, Afternoon game drives in Search for lion or leopard along the edge of the woodland or head out into the vast plains,
Proceed with afternoon of exploring Nyerere National Park you will return to Camp to enjoy pre-dinner drinks around the camp fire, followed campfire, Sundowner, by a delectable three-course dinner served under a canopy of stars. Selous Impala Tented Camp.
After three nights out in the bush we say goodbye to Nyerere today. In the morning you will fly per Cessna to the exotic Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport you will be driven to Paje at the south east coast of the island. A warm welcome awaits you at Kisiwa on the Beach. You will stay here in a private villa amidst swaying palm trees.
